The Pay At The Pump website provides a community-updatable database of petrol stations in the United
Kingdom where the facility to pay for fuel at the pump is offered. We were involved in all areas of this
project from specification through design and finally implementation. The application was created using a
combination of JBoss Seam, EJB3, JBoss AS, HIbernate Search, PostgreSQL, Rich Faces and the mapping
component was provided by the Google Maps API.
In addition to the website component, we were also asked to create an iPhone application to complement the
site that would allow iPhone users to locate pay at the pump services in their local vacinity. To acheive
this we created iPayAtThePump on the iPhone, and this application is available on Apple’s App Store.
Once the iPhone application was completed, a similar application was created for the Google Android
platform and this is available on the Google Marketplace.
